Dr. Maria Montessori, To Educate the Human Potential, p. 5
“We shall walk together on this path of life, for all things are part of the universe, and are connected with each other to form one whole unity.”
Welcome from Our Director
Dear RCMS Parent Community,
It is with great pride, excitement, and joy that I write to introduce myself to you all as the incoming Director of Rock Creek Montessori School. This spring, I have had the privilege of connecting with the RCMS team while preparing to join this special community within the larger Montessori family. Since joining the Rock Creek family, it has been a privilege to study our school’s rich history and witnessing its remarkable potential to serve the children of Silver Spring.
As your family encounters our school, be you prospective, newly enrolled, or returning, it is my hope that you will find the spirit of gentleness, dedication, love, peace, and liberation woven into the fabric of our environments and staff. Deciding to become a Montessori family is a life-changing moment, and I believe it is a choice for which your child will forever thank you. Some of the strongest, most innovative, independent, and caring human beings trace their origins back to the foundational, peace-centered, and liberatory education which they received in Montessori programs as young children; we can’t wait to see who your children will grow to become after their time at Rock Creek Montessori School!
It is my hope that while we serve the children as guides and guardians, we may remember and rediscover things about our own childhoods, positive and difficult, and be inspired to engage in the continued work of inner peace and self-love as models for these remarkable children to follow.
In this time, when community and belonging are more essential than ever for the flourishing of children, families, and educators, I am so honored to have the opportunity to serve as a guide for the children and a support for the whole community in my role as Director. As any Montessorian will attest, we often learn far more from the children than we could ever teach them; in the same way, I look forward to all that I will learn from you as I work to serve you, your children, and the educators who make RCMS the remarkable place that it is.
In Peace and Gratitude,
Frank George IV,
Director, Primary Guide
